Scintex Snorkel Installation Instructions for Toyoto Prado 120 Series
After spending some time researching 4WD snorkels on various forums and websites I found instructions for various models are hard to come by and the sellers aren't particularly forthcoming. I ended up going with an unbranded snorkel from the internet. At less than half the price of a Safari kit it came with an installation template but no instructions. The installation took a few hours but in the end it fit like a rubber glove, with all pipes matching up perfectly. Anyway here are the steps and photos...
Step 1: Out of the box
Step 3: Tape the stencil to the outer guard aligning the straight edges.
Step 4: Drill Pilot Holes
Step 5: Using hole saw, drill port for air pipe as per the stencil. 3" hole saw in this case.
Step 6: Partially remove the the wheel inner lining to access between the inner and outer guard.
Step 7: Fit the interconnecting pipe, hose and clamps while re-fitting the
air box. Remember to seal all connections with Sikaflex or similar.
Step 8: Bolt up the snorkel so the upper mount can be located.
Step 9: Finish securing all bolts, fit the top snorkel air ram and reinstall
the inner wheel arch lining.
